THE Filipino Americans of Northern California Organization (FANCO) showcased its wares during the Independence Day parade in Novato saluting four Filipino-American veterans of WWII atop its float which coveted the Grand Prize for depicting the best theme of this year’s celebration “Unsung Heroes.”
The four veterans, well in their eighties, are Gregorio Ferrer, Leonardo Torres, Aquilino Delen and Raymundo Hermoza.
FANCO is an association of Filipinos in Marin, Solano and Sonoma counties whose mission is to highlight the Filipino identity, its core values and culture through participation in community activities, at the same time make a difference in the lives of others through civic involvement.
